When did you find out about the Xpan?

I found out about the Xpan after seeing Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s works.

When did you get your Xpan?

I purchased my Xpan from Los Angeles in 2013. Still remember that day..

What attracted you to the Xpan?

The intimacy of the borders, the way it forces you to compose, they way it makes you think & feel about photography.

What lenses do you have?

45 only.

What do you like to take photos of with your Xpan?

I was doing landscape only, but recently I started using it for street photography as well, Not the easiest task when you have the upper and lower framelines squished, but with good practice, you get the rewards!

What would you like to take photos of with your Xpan?

Anything that has valuable negative space in the composition.

What is your favourite film to use in the Xpan?

Kodak Trix-400 only.

What are your three favourite shots that you have taken with your Xpan?

I actually do not have any favourite shots with the Xpan, I believe that every single photograph coming out of the Xpan has its own character and poise.

What is your favourite shot that someone else took with an Xpan?

Nuri Bilge Ceylan – Turkey Cinemascope series.

Which photographers inspire you?

Elliott Erwitt and Ara Guler, because they make me laugh and think at the same time.

What other cameras do you like to use?

Leica M240 + 35mm For street photography.

Canon 5DMK3 – for commercial use.

If Hasselblad made a digital Xpan, would you buy it?
